SUCCESS STORY

Hevon Stewart :
An Artistic Rise Through Fashion, Film, and Determination

By Guillaume Jean Lefebvre

Born in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, and raised in the heart of New York City, Hevon Stewart is a multifaceted artist who has carved out a unique place in the entertainment industry. His name, often mispronounced as "Heaven" or "Heven," has a symbolic meaning in Old English, referring to the sky or the firmament—a perfect metaphor for a career on the rise.

From the age of four, Hevon Stewart displayed a natural talent for drawing. This early passion for visual art quickly turned into a pursuit of excellence, where he competed with other artists in his community, always striving to be better. His love for artistic expression naturally led him to acting, where he discovered the power of bringing characters to life and conveying genuine emotions.

Fashion soon became another key element of his creative world. Drawn to elegance and the ability of fashion to tell a story, he embraced modeling, developing a distinctive style that set him apart. His approach was clear: to stand out and embody a unique aesthetic that was entirely his own.

Like many artists, Hevon faced challenges along the way. His first job at a bowling alley taught him the value of hard work but also the importance of following his true passions. He went on to study performing arts, specializing in improvisational acting, TV/film acting, and commercial acting. This strong foundation allowed him to explore the world of cinema as a director and screenwriter, creating short films and student projects that refined his storytelling skills.

In 2020, he took a significant step by launching his modeling career. He was quickly noticed, appearing in several magazines and walking the runway at fashion shows. His charisma and originality then opened doors in the film industry, where he landed his first feature film role.
What sets Hevon Stewart apart, beyond his talent, is his deeply human approach to his craft. He tackles every project with heart and authenticity, believing that art should resonate with those who experience it. To him, storytelling is not just about playing a role—it’s about touching souls and offering an identity that others can relate to.

His greatest achievements are not just measured by contracts or fame but by his ability to stay true to himself. At just seven years old, he made the spiritual decision to give his life to the Lord, a choice that reflected his early maturity and strong values. But his true accomplishment, in his eyes, is having persevered despite hardships, refusing to let obstacles break his determination.
Today, Hevon Stewart is preparing for the next chapter in his career. Signed with a casting agency and a new agent, he is focusing on upcoming projects in television, film, and print modeling. His goal? To leave a lasting mark on the industry—not just through his talent but through the authenticity and originality that define him.

Those who know him agree that he is different, that he doesn’t follow trends but creates them. Hevon Stewart is not just another artist—he is a creative force determined to make an impact, inspiring those who, like him, dream of shaping their own future through their unique vision.

1. You have explored multiple artistic disciplines—drawing, acting, fashion, and filmmaking. How do you juggle these different fields, and how do they complement each other in your work?

Drawing, acting, fashion, and filmmaking all fall under the category of art because they require creativity. With drawing, you bring something to life on paper. With acting, you bring a character to life—whether fictional or based on a true story—on screen. In fashion, you use creativity to transform fabric into something unique. And with filmmaking, you take ideas from script to screen. These disciplines complement each other because they all require the same kind of creative vision, which is why I’m able to juggle them.

2. Both modeling and acting require the ability to embody an artistic vision. How do you adjust your approach when posing for a fashion campaign versus performing a role on screen?

When I first started acting, I struggled at showcases and seminars in front of agents and managers because I was shy and uncomfortable on stage. The same thing happened when I started modeling. It wasn’t until I became truly comfortable on camera and in front of an audience that my talent and personality were fully unleashed. The key to adjusting my approach is overcoming shyness and embracing my artistic vision with confidence.

3. You started your modeling career in 2020 and quickly gained recognition. In your opinion, what makes a model stand out in such a competitive industry?

Many models submit to agencies, hoping to be signed, or attend casting calls, hoping to be chosen by designers. Instead of relying on 50/50 chances, I focused on building my own brand. I worked with multiple photographers to develop my portfolio, collaborated with brands looking for exposure, and built a strong presence on Google. In my experience, agents prefer to find models who already have an established presence—through articles, magazines, and brand collaborations. Instead of just submitting comp cards, it’s essential to build yourself up first.

4. You have directed and written your own short films. What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned from working behind the camera, and how does that influence your work as an actor?

Directing and writing my own short films pushed my creativity to the next level. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never sit around waiting to be cast. The time spent waiting could be used for screenwriting, developing ideas, collaborating with other actors and filmmakers, or, most importantly, taking acting classes. Staying active and continuously improving my craft is essential while waiting for big opportunities.

5. What have been the biggest professional challenges you’ve faced in your career, and how did you overcome them?

Failure is always a challenge because it requires hope, faith, and resilience to learn from setbacks and improve. Roadblocks and disappointments are tough because they can make people want to give up. Overcoming them requires persistence and self-belief, which is why they remain some of my biggest professional challenges.

6. The entertainment industry is full of uncertainties. How do you handle pressure, slow periods, and the constant need to reinvent yourself?

Pressure has helped me grow because, over time, I’ve learned to handle it better. Slow periods, rather than discouraging me, have inspired creativity. During one such period, I wrote my first script, produced and acted in my first short film, Student Teacher Blackmail, and created other on-camera projects. For me, slow periods are the best time to reinvent myself and keep moving forward.

7. Which role or project has been the most significant for you so far, and why?

I once played the role of a high school jock who happens to be bisexual. As a heterosexual actor, I initially felt unsure about taking on the role. However, after reflecting and discussing it with others, I decided to embrace the challenge. We live in a time where LGBTQ+ representation is important, and I wanted to push myself as an actor to take my career to the next level.

8. As an artist, how do you choose the projects you take on? Are there specific criteria that guide your professional decisions?

Ideally, I want to choose roles that elevate my acting. Unfortunately, many roles don’t offer that but still pay well, which is why some actors end up taking jobs just for the paycheck rather than for artistic fulfillment. I try to find roles that will be memorable and talked about for years, but that in itself is a challenge.

9. You’ve mentioned wanting to leave a lasting impact on the industry. What is your long-term vision for your career, and what projects are you most passionate about?

My long-term vision is to create a movie about my life called Eastside Story, covering everything from 1988 to the present. I want to tell my story while incorporating comedy, suspense, action, and fiction. Acting will always be my greatest passion, but music is also calling me. I’ve always had a voice in my ear telling me to pursue it, so it looks like music will become my second passion.

10. If you could give one piece of practical advice to someone aspiring to succeed in the modeling or film industry, what would it be?

Never set your expectations too high, because nine times out of ten, when they aren’t met, you’ll be disappointed. Focus on what you can control and let go of what you can’t. Work on improving what’s within your power, and for everything else, have faith that things will fall into place.

Quality, not quantity

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.
